FAQ
What should I do with my Certificate of Completion and my Score Report once I have passed my examination.
Once your testing process is complete, save your Certificate of Completion AND your Score Report, and file them along with your other valuable paper and records in case you need them for proof sometime in the future.
What is a Certificate of Completion (Con Ed)?
A Certificate of Completion is a document that Pathfinder will issue to you when you complete your Pathfinder classroom training. Your Certificate of Completion is your proof of continuing education class hours to be applied to your insurance license.
As you service to you, Pathfinder uploads your class completion information into the SIRCON database used bu INDOI and applies credit hours to your license.
How long is a Pre-License Certificate of Completion good for?
Six months. No matter how we say it, Indiana state law says that your Certificate of Completion is only good for six months, which means that you must pass your exam and file an application for a license within six months of the date of issue of your Certificate of Completion.
Indiana insurance law also states that Pathfinder cannot issue you a new Certificate of Completion that would extend the application time beyond six months from the completion date of your class. The Pathfinder guarantee states that you can attend your pre-licensing class as many times as you wish during the six month period of time. If you need a new Certificate of Completion beyond the six-month time frame (because you have not passed your examination and submitted a license application), the law states that you must start the pre-licensing procedure all over again. Pathfinder will offer you a discount to attend the class again to receive a new Certificate of Completion, but this truly is a waste of time and money. So please take your examination, pass it, and apply for your license before the end of six months.
What do I do if my Pre Licensing Certificate of Completion lapses after six-month period of time?
Indiana State Law says that Certificate of Completion is only for six months from the completion date of your pre-licensing class. If you have not passed your examination and applied for you insurance license by the end of six months from the date of completion of you class, you must start the licensing process all over again.
What do I do if I loose my Pre-licensing Certificate of Completion?
This answer/process assumes your lost Certificate of Completion is still within the six month limit allowed by the state.
If you misplace your Certificate of Completion prior to your test date, please call Pathfinder and we will replace it for you. However, there is a $25 administrative fee for the service. We can either e-mail or fax you a replacement certificate. A better strategy is to immediately make two or three copies of your Certificate of Completion so losing one copy is not an issue.
A Certificate of Completion is a document that Pathfinder will issue to you when you complete your Pathfinder classroom training. Your Certificate of Completion is your ticket/permission to take the examination.
You will not be allowed to sit for an examination if you do not present your Certificate of Completion to the Proctor at the test site.
We suggest that you immediately make two or three copies of your Certificate of Completion, so if you lose one copy, you will still have a backup copy to present to your test Proctor. Place one copy in your car, another copy in your valuable papers, and the third copy in your wallet along with your photo ID.
Why the big fuss? The reason is because if you arrive at your test location without your Certificate of Completion, the Proctor will not let you sit for your examination.
- You must also make certain that the name on your Certificate of Completion is exactly the same as your name as it appears on your photo ID.
In the event that you do arrive at the test site without your Certificate of Completion, it is possible for Pathfinder to fax you a replacement Certificate of Completion to your test site, but there is a $25 administrative fee for doing so. In addition, your blood pressure will go out of sight due to the administrative hassle, which is not good for your test taking capabilities. So please make copies of your Certificate of Completion and have them with you when you go to take your test.
Once your testing process is complete, save your Certificate of Completion, along with your test Score Report that the proctor will give you and file these important documents away along with your other valuable papers and records.
